Biographical Information: Sharon had fought a hard two - year battle of cancer. Sharon had lived in the Monon area all her life and was a 1976 graduate of North White High School of Monon. After graduating from high school, Sharon went to work at the former Monon Trailer of Monon for several years until they closed. After Monon Trailer closed, Sharon, went on to Ivy Tech Community College of Lafayette and received her nursing degree. Sharon had worked at the former White County Memorial Hospital and then onto Indiana University Health White Memorial Hospital and had worked there for over twenty – five years. She did numerous outreach programs, starting the Safe Sitters Program, Child Safety Seat Program, White County Emergency Services, taught CPR and First Aid classes in all White County Schools, taught EMT classes in White and surrounding counties, helped, and numerous new mothers. Sharon was a volunteer first responder for the Honey Creek Fire Department of Reynolds and the Monon Fire Department of Monon. She and her son, Wes, help start and create the White County Special Olympics in 1995 and she was also a coach. Sharon was a volunteer medical team member of the 2014 USA Special Olympic games in New Jersey. Most importantly, Sharon, was an amazing wife, mom, mama, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend!!!!!
