Biographical Information: Pauline had been in failing health for the last several months. She had lived in Taunton, Massachusetts, Newport, Rhode Island, Newagen, Maine, Racine Wisconsin, and Lafayette, Indiana. Pauline graduated from the School of Business from the University of Newport, Rhode Island, and received her undergraduate degrees from the University of Rhode Island, and University of Kentucky. She also received her CFS Education from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Pauline was a teacher, administrator, and had served as the Executive Director of the YWCA of Lafayette, Indiana, for twenty - two years. She had taught school in Mulberry, Indiana, for two years. Pauline was a former member and Elder of the Central Presbyterian Church of Lafayette, Indiana, for fifty years, and a member of the Federated Church of West Lafayette, Indiana. She was also a member of the YWCA, YWCA Foundation, Wabash Area Lifetime Learning (WALLA), Volunteers in Probation Crisis Center, Tourist Club, Planned Parenthood, Delta Zeta Sorority, Katherine Weil Woman’s Center, Great Lafayette Health Services Auxiliary, and was on the Board of Directors of the Woman’s Center (Katherine Weil), all of Lafayette, Indiana.

Marriage Information: In 1946, in Taunton, Massachusetts, she married Charles L. Hill, Jr.; he passed away in 1984. Then in Battle Ground, Indiana, she married John T. Shafer; he is deceased.
