Biographical Information: Doc had was a lifetime resident of White County, Indiana. He was a 1942 graduate of the Chalmers High School of Chalmers, Indiana. Doc then went on to Purdue University, then to North Western University, and then Graduated with his DVM of Ohio State University. He was a Veterinarian for over 50 years in the Chalmers area. After more or less retiring from Veterinary he went into Recycling. Doc was a Commodity Broker for the Chicago Board of Trade for several years. He was a member of the Chalmers Community Church and the Chalmers American Legion Post. Doc helped build the church building and taught Sunday School for over 29 years. He also was a member of the White County Historical Society, the White County Pheasants Forever, the White County Pork Producers, and was a Past Master of the Libanus Lodge #154 F. & A. M. of Monticello, Indiana. Doc also belonged to the Delphi Country Club where he enjoyed his passion of playing cards. He was an avid card player and loved poker and gin rummy. Doc was a great motivator of people and knew everyone and remembered their names. He enjoyed hunting arrow heads in his spare time
Special Services: Full Military Rites will be conducted at the Miller - Roscka Fuenral Home on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. by Monticello Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorial Information: Memorials may be given to the American Red Cross in the form of blood or monetary donations "Strength for Isiah" ( a Great-Great Grandson). Envelopes for monetary donations will be available at the funeral home.
Marriage Information: On May 10th, 1974 in Chalmers, Indiana he married Jean A. (Fitzer) Turnpaugh. She survives.
