Biographical Information: Dick had been in failing health for the last couple years. He had lived in White County, Indiana, all his life and was a 1949 graduate of Buffalo High School of Buffalo, Indiana. He then went on to graduate from Butler University of Indianapolis, Indiana, with a degree in education and then went on to receive his master’s degree from Purdue University of West Lafayette, Indiana. Dick was one of a kind an amazing seventh and eighth grade history teacher at Lincoln and Roosevelt Middle School of Monticello, Indiana, for thirty - six years. He brought history to life with all his dressing up in all his uniforms and memorabilia while teaching the students!!!!! Dick was an avid hunter and fisherman!!! He was a member of the SAFE (Sportsman Acting for the Environment), Pheasant Forever of White County, Indiana, served on the board of the Hughes Cemetery, and the Retired Teachers Association of White County, all of Monticello, Indiana.

Memorial Information: Memorials may be given to Kids Fund, c/o Twin Lakes School Corporation or to the White County Historical Society, both of Monticello, Indiana. Donations may be mailed to the Miller - Roscka Funeral Home, 6368 E. US 24, Monticello, Indiana, 47960.
Marriage Information: On October 29, 1950, at the old Zion Bethel Church in rural Monticello, Indiana, he married Lola R. Cahill; she passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2014.
