Biographical Information: Pattie had lived in the Monticello, Indiana, area most all her life, moving from the Logansport, Indiana, area. She had been in failing health for the last several years. Pattie was a 1953 graduate of Logansport High School of Logansport, Indiana. She had attended the former Twin Lakes Southern Baptist Church and the American Legion Post #81 Ladies Auxiliary, both of Monticello, Indiana. Pattie was a waitress and bartender for seventeen years at the Tippecanoe County Club, several years at the former Town and Country Inn, and AmVets Post #91, all of Monticello, Indiana. She had worked in the Environmental Services Department (housekeeping) of the White County Memorial Hospital of Monticello, Indiana, for six (6) years. Although she never received a reward for all of her services in the community, she was well known for them. She was also known as the "Can Lady". She would pick up aluminum cans from several clubs and businesses every day, then traveled to 18th Street in Logansport every Tuesday to recycle. Pattie did that for over twenty - one years. If you would run across an S10 stopped on US Highway 24, chances are it was Pattie picking up cans that had blown out of her vehicle. Pattie used to love gardening with her family. ***** Special thank you goes out to Alison Coble and the entire staff at the Augusta Cottage*****!!
