Biographical Information: Mike had been in failing health for the last several months. He had lived in the Monticello, Indiana, area most all his life and was a 1961 graduate of Monticello High School of Monticello, Indiana. While in high school, Mike, played football and basketball. Mike was a member of the former Black Widows Car Club of Monticello, Indiana. After graduating from high school, he went on to attend and graduate from Fort Wayne Business College of Fort Wayne, Indiana, receiving his degree in accounting. Mike was in charge of the concessions stands at Roosevelt Middle School and Twin Lakes High School of Monticello, Indiana, for years, and most all the kids would call him “grandpa”. He always had time to stop or at least give a hey to everyone while working in the concession stands, and all the students/kids loved him! Mike was a huge, avid Indiana University fan and was a walk on for the Indiana University Baseball team. He played and coached American Legion Baseball in Monticello for several years. Mike was a referee for high school football and basketball until he came down with MS. He was a lieutenant in the Indiana National Guard.
