Biographical Information: Curt was born and raised in Idaville, Indiana, by Merle Addison and Mary Ellen (Steininger) Grigsby. During most of Curt’s youth, Merle worked for the State of Indiana auditing financial institutions and Mary Ellen ran a beauty salon out of the home, which provided young Curtis ample time to pursue his favorite hobbies. The culmination of many of these childhood pursuits resulted in theatrical presentations (plays) being hosted in the barn featuring his kid sister Candy and his many small-town friends. This love of the theatrical would be a theme to much of Curt’s life. After a short time at Ball State University of Muncie, Indiana, and a few professional pursuits in sales, Curt started a theatrical production company, Retroact, which he loved and enjoyed for decades. At its height, Retroact employed over thirty actors and technical support staff and had three operating locations across the Midwest. Curt was a successful DJ for years with local radio stations in the Monticello area. Curt also had a deep love of history and sports which he greatly enjoyed with the love of his life, Shirley Ann Grigsby. In his twilight years, he authored several books, once of which was published and is available on Amazon. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date due impact of COVID19.
