Biographical Information: Luanne Lingenfelter, 70, passed away on June 5, 2021 after an extended illness, which she fought courageously. Born on February 3, 1951, she was the daughter of Harold “Bud” and Patricia Carter McCoskey. She graduated from Twin Lakes High School and Purdue University. On May 8, 1970, she married Jim Lingenfelter at her parents home in Monticello, Indiana. Luanne was a member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority. She worked for the Indiana State Board of Accounts as a Field Examiner for 22 years. After her retirement in 2014, she was excited to have more time for friends, family and projects. Luanne had one of the kindest hearts, as experienced by family, friends and strangers, alike. A classic Luanne kindness story is how, after her appendectomy while still groggy, she profusely thanked every hospital staff member, including the person who emptied her wastebasket. Luanne was a caregiver at heart and helped others in many different ways. She loved landscaping and shopping for treasures for her beautifully decorated home. Luanne also had a great love for animals and the ocean. She enjoyed travelling on vacation to the ocean with her cousin, Cindy. She was also a voracious reader. Luanne loved her family tremendously. She especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, Kelsey, and following her many adventures and attending her athletic events. Luanne will be greatly missed by many! She is survived by her husband, Jim Lingenfelter of Monticello; son, Jason (Jennifer) Lingenfelter of Monticello; granddaughter, Kelsey; beloved pups, Ellie and Sophie; sisters, Pam McCoskey of Indianapolis and Jessica “Jay” Surber (Rob) of Marshall, Michigan; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and special friends from the class of 1969. She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Kylie. No services will be held, as per her wishes. For those wishing to make a donation, Luanne requested donations be made to an animal homeless shelter of your choice.
