Biographical Information: Howard was the first baby boy born at Howard Community Hospital, hence his name "Howard". He was raised in Greentown, Indiana and had worked on the family farm. Howard was graduate of the Union Township School in Howard County. Howard went into the service in 1951 to the U.S. Army, serving in Germany as an MP during the Korean Conflict. After coming back to the states in 1957, he started working as an agriculture mechanic. Howard moved to Burnettsville, Indiana, in 1972 and continued to do mechanic and restoration work on old farm tractors. He was a member of the First Church of God in Idaville, Indiana. Howard was also a member of the White County Antique Power Association, National IH (International Harvester) Club and loved square dancing where he met his second wife, Ruby.
Special Services: Full Military Rites by the Monticello Veterans Honor Guard of Monticello, Indiana, will be at the funeral home at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2014, immediately followed by Celebration of Life Services.
Memorial Information: Memorials may be given to White County Antique Power Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Marriage Information: In 1958, in Lafontaine, Indiana, he married Doris Sheppard; she passed away in 1990. Then in Idaville, Indiana, he married Ruby VonArb in 1995. She passed away in 2010.
