Visitation will be: Celebration of Life Services at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 12, 2011, at the Zion Bethel Church, 415 S. 3rd Street, Monticello, Indiana 47960. Full military by the Honor Guard of the American Legion, VFW, and AmVets Post, all of Monticello, Indiana, will follow the services at the church.
Biographical Information: Walter had served in the United States Army for twenty three (23) years. He was a graduate of Royal Centre High School in Royal Center, Indiana, Walter had lived in the Monticello, Indiana, community since 1966, coming here from Ft. Hood, Texas, after his retirement from Ft. Hood. He was a member of the American Legion Post #81 of Monticello, Indiana, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Ft. Hood, Texas for over fifty (50) years.
Special Services: Full military rites by the Honor Guard of the American Legion, VFW, and AmVets Post all of Monticello, Indiana, will follow the services at the Zion Bethel Church, 415 S. 3rd Stree, Monticello, Indiana.
Memorial Information: Memorials may be given to the Little Red Door Cancer Agency, 1301 North Meridian Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46202 (www.littlereddoor.org). Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Marriage Information: On January 19, 1947, at Ruthalea parents farm in rural Royal Center, Indiana, he married Ruthalea Batty. She died in March 23, 2004.
