Biographical Information: Babe passed away peacefully at his residence with his wife by his side. He had lived in the Monticello, Indiana area all of his life, and was a 1934 graduate of Monticello High School. He loved his hometown very much, and was a very patriotic member of his community. Babe had served as the President of the Alcoholic Beverage Commission from 1977 until 2007. He was part time (seasonal)help for the tax assessors office from 2004 - 2007. Babe was also on the Monticello City Council in the 1960's and had served on the Board of Directors of the Lakes Federal Credit Union in Monticello, Indiana. He was a member of the American Legion, AmVets, VFW Posts, and the Moose Lodge, all of Monticello, Indiana. Babe was a United States World War II Army Veteran. In his early years, Babe attended the Oak Grove Christian Church in rural Carroll County, Indiana. He had worked at the old RCA Factory here in Monticello, Indiana for Thirty-two (32) years as the maintenance Foreman. While working at RCA he served as the President of the Carpenters and Joiners Union. Babe retired in 1977. He was also an electrician and carpenter.
Special Services: Full military rites will be conducted by the Honor Guard of the American Legion, AmVets, and VFW Post all of Monticello, Indiana will be at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in rural Reynolds, Indiana.
Memorial Information: May be given the American Diabetes Association, or to the White County Memorial Hospital Building Fund. Envelopes will be available here at the funeral home.
Marriage Information: On October 17, 1941, in Francesville, Indiana, he married Margaret M. " Peg " Huguet. She survives.
