Biographical Information: Ken was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather "Pop" and friend. He was the very definition of a family man. His family meant the world to him. Ken was retired from NICTD as the Chief Operating Officer of the South Shore Railroad. He was the Plant Manager at GATX and ran the family business, Ideal Mattress, with his mom. Ken’s desire to leave the world a better place led him to become involved in his community. He was Highland Republican Town Chairman, was a member of the Electoral College, had the honor of attending Presidents Nixon’s, and Reagan’s inaugurations, founded the Highland Teenage Republicans, and served as the Clerk of the Lake County, Indiana, Circuit/Superior Courts. He received the Lake County Lincoln Head Award, and was a recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash Award by former Governor Otis R. Bowen. He served on the Board of Hoosier Boys Town and was a Little League coach for his beloved White Sox.

Marriage Information: On November 11, 1991, at the New Hope Lutheran Church of Monticello, Indiana, he married Zella "Zel" Durham; she survives.
