Biographical Information: Chuck joined our Savior in Heaven on Sunday, January 24, 2021. He was one of their seven children. Dad had two older sisters, Wilma and Maxine. Dad is survived by Maxine. Dad was the oldest of a set of triplet boys they were named Charles, Harry, and Arthur. Max and Edith also had twin boys Richard and Paul. Dad graduated from Alpena High School in 1946 where he lettered in baseball and football. Dad enlisted in the United States Army on his 18th birthday. He was deployed, as part of the occupation forces, to Japan where he was seriously injured. Dad was honorably discharged from service in 1948 as a Sergeant. After recuperating in Alpena he attended Monmouth College, a private Presbyterian college in Illinois. He graduated in 1951 with a business degree. While at Monmouth, dad met Mary Jo Shelby. Two years later they were married on November 17, 1951 in the First Presbyterian Church of Oak Park, IL. She was the love of his life. They were married for 63 years before Mary Jo passed on Saturday, September 14, 2013. Dad was a consummate salesman, often using humor to close deals. Dad held sales and management responsibilities with WJ Holiday Co. and Youngstown Sheet & Tube. During his successful career the family lived in Indianapolis Indiana, Boardman OH, South Bend IN, and Peoria Illinois. After retiring, mom and dad moved to Monticello, Indiana, where they enjoyed living on Lake Shafer for twenty - five years. He will be remembered for his ability to tell a good story and a few jokes. Dad’s past memberships include: Indianapolis, Indiana, Athletic Club, American Iron & Steel Institute, Murat Shrine, Masons, National Management Association, Indianapolis, Indiana, Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, SFLECC both of Monticello, Indiana, and many others.

Marriage Information: On November 17, 1951, at the First Presbyterian Church of Oak Park, Illinois, he married the love of his life, Mary Jo Shelby; she passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2013.
