Biographical Information: With 2020 being a hard year, Gerald lost his wife of nearly fifty years in January. While recovering from major health issues, Gerald has had a lot of time to just watch the news and goings on throughout the world. He loved watching all the rallies and hoopla on TV and wanted to hear them from the start to finish. Gerald started trucking for local farmers as a part of a corn shelling crew. After years of this, while working full time on the family farm, he upgraded trucks to a 1967 Dodge that his son still uses to this day. He would work at the Northwestern Elevator in Chalmers while continuing to farm and drive truck. Gerald would meet the love of his life at his brother’s house and soon married her. He married Lenora Lynn M. Gallinger in 1970 and started designing and building their house on the family Homestead, just down the hill from where he was born. In February of 1973 they adopted a baby boy, Gary E. Gallinger. Lynn and Gerald would go forth babysitting over thirty children in the house that they had built. In the Mid 1980s they started a lawn ornament pouring and painting business that would have customers drive for hours to get items painted by them. They loved the craft but did not like to be called artist. It is funny looking back on that because that is what they were. Written by, Gary E. Gallinger.
