Biographical Information: Robert David "Davie" Griffin, 64, of Monticello, passed away at 4:12 a.m., Thursday, October 1, 2020, at the Franciscan Health St. Elizabeth East Hospital of Lafayette with his wife, Robin, by his side. He was born on Tuesday, February 14, 1956, in Rensselaer to the late Robert W. and Stella “Marie” (Fairchild) Griffin. On November 6, 1976, in Reynolds he married Robin Williams; she survives. Davie had lived in the Monticello area most all of his life and was a 1974 graduate of Twin Lakes High School of Monticello. He was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church of Monticello and was the official doorman / greeter to everyone coming to church. Davie enjoyed volunteering for the Monticello United Methodist Church Youth Group, Soup for the Soul, and the White County Food Pantry. He was an outdoors person and loved fishing. Davie was the president of the “Caffeine for Christ Club” that met at Station 66 of Monticello. He was the president of Griffin Steel Products of Reynolds. Most of all, Davie was the ultimate “Story - teller”!!!!! Surviving are his wife, Robin Griffin of Monticello; brother, William Joseph “Bill” (wife Mary) Griffin of Monticello; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends; mother-in-law, Marjorie Williams of Monticello; his Monticello United Methodist Church Family and Friends; and his cat, Macey. Davie was preceded in death by his parents, Robert W. and Stella “Marie” (Fairchild) Griffin; aunt and uncle, Betty, and Harry Riley; and father-in-law, Robert “Bob” Williams. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 4, 2020, at the Miller - Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello. Celebration of Life Service will be at the funeral home at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 4, 2020, with Rev. Brian Beeks of the Monticello United Methodist Church of Monticello officiating. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemetery in rural Monticello. Memorials may be given to the family or to the White County Food Pantry.
