Biographical Information: William L. "Bill" Abbott, 62, of Monticello passed away very unexpectedly at 4:48 p.m., Sunday, September 20, 2020, at the Pulaski County Memorial Hospital Emergency Room of Winamac. He was born on Thursday, May 22, 1958, in Monticello to the late Lyle S. and Anna Lou (Franklin) Abbott. Bill had lived in the Monticello area all his life and was proud to receive his GED in 1975. He was an avid race car driver, fisherman, and was in construction. Bill was all about family and they all meant a lot to him. He was the world’s best “bull-shitter”. On the way to the cemetery Bill will take the lead for a change with all the race cars behind him. Surviving are two children Travis “Putter” Abbott of Monticello, and Billie (husband Kyle) Peterson of Bunker Hill, West Virginia; four grandchildren, Reis Clark, Maya Abbott, Taylor, and Kayton Peterson; three sisters, Loleta “Dee Dee” (husband Dale) Northcutt of Rensselaer, Teresa (husband Darrell) Hufford of Tipton, and Angelita “Angie” (husband Michael) Neal of Monticello; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle S. and Anna Lou (Franklin) Abbott; infant son, Billy Lyle Abbott; brother, Randy G. Abbott; and paternal grandparents, Wid and Hattie Abbott, and Goble and Virginia Franklin. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m., to 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 25, 2020, at the Miller – Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello. Celebration of Life Service will be at the funeral home at 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 25, 2020, with Pastor Dan Hester, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemetery in rural Monticello. Memorials may be given to the Family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to the Miller – Roscka Funeral Home, 6368 E.
