Biographical Information: Marvin L. Harker , 71, of Idaville / Burnettsville area passed away very unexpectedly on Thursday, September 17, 2020, at his home. He was born on Saturday, September 18, 1948, in Logansport to the late Fred L. and Barbara E. (Marvin) Harker, and yes September 18, 2020, would have been Marvin’s seventy – second birthday. On September 15, 1973, at the Pike Creek Church of the Brethren of Monticello he married the love of his life. Judy Sollars; she survives. Two days before Marvin passed away, he and his wife, Judy, celebrated their forty – seventh wedding anniversary. Marvin had lived in the Idaville / Burnettsville area most all his life. He was a 1966 graduate of Logansport High School of Logansport and was a proud “Logansport Berry” and would always enjoy rubbing it into the family when Logansport played Twin Lakes. Marvin was very much a family man, especially with his grandchildren. He was a huge supporter of his grandchildren, watching them in sporting activities, band, musicals, or whatever the occasion. Marvin was one of the biggest “jokesters”, giving everyone a hard time, and giving everyone a nickname. He had been involved in coaching Little Indians Basketball, RCA Softball League, and Little League Baseball. Surviving are his wife, Judy Harker of Idaville / Burnettsville area; three children, Tommy (wife Amanda) Harker of Monticello, Andy (wife Rachel) Harker of Delphi, and Tricia (husband John) Brady of Idaville; ten grandchildren, Orion and Caden Harker, Lauren Weaver, Hailey, Lilly, Leigha, Alexander “Alex”, and Micha Harker, Keegan, and Peyton Bradley; sister, Marcia (husband Art) Connell of Buffalo; brother, Alvin (wife Leah) Harker of Marco Island, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Karen (husband Bill) Shull of Franklin, Wisconsin, and Carolyn “Solly” Sollars of Monticello; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Fred L. and Barbara E. (Marvin) Harker; and father and mother-in-law, Edgar T. and Deloris L. (James) Sollars. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 20, 2020, at the Miller – Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello. Private Family Burial will be at the Rock Creek Cemetery in rural Logansport.
