Biographical Information: Dorothy was born and raised in Monon and moved to the Monticello area in 1954 after marrying her late husband, Charlie. She had worked at the former Bryan Manufacturing, Youngs Cafeteria, and Indiana Beach Campground all of Monticello. Dorothy was most known for babysitting for the employees of the old RCA Factory of Monticello and just about anyone else needing a good babysitter. She enjoyed playing bingo, playing cards, camping, working outdoors, and walking everywhere. Dorothy most of all loved spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. Her entire family was always requesting her fried potatoes and her homemade French fries.

Marriage Information: On January 16, 1954, in Monticello, Indiana, she married Charles J. "Charlie" Maxson; he passed away on May 20, 2000.
