Burial will take place: Full Military Rites by the Monticello Veterans Honor Guard of Monticello will be at the Chalmers Cemetery in rural Chalmers, Indiana.
Visitation will be: Visitation will be from 12:00 (noon) to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 2020, at the Reynolds United Methodist Church, 600 E. 2nd Street, Reynolds, Indiana, 47980.
Biographical Information: Robert Lee Kelly, also known as “Spark Kelly”, 86, born on February 6, 1933, and a lifelong resident of Reynolds, Indiana, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on January 4, 2020. Spark is survived by his wife Eleanor Joyce Kelly “Joy”, daughters Julie Burke (Tim), Katherine Kelly, Roseann Kelly-Falls (Steve Falls), son Kenneth Kelly “Kenny” (Rose), and many loving grandchildren, Holly Miller George (Craig), Michelle Burke Mann (Austin), Michael Burke, Robbie and Eleanor Falls in addition to his great grandchildren. Spark and Joy were co-owners of Robert L. Kelly Paving and Excavating from 1957 through 2007 where he was successful in overseeing construction projects both locally and regionally. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Lions Club in Reynolds, Indiana, American Legion Post #81, Libanus Masonic Lodge #154 F.&A.M., former Moose Lodge, and White County Shrine Club of Monticello, Indiana. He was a member of the Murat Temple and Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Indiana. Spark proudly served as a United States Army Veteran fighting for our country during the Korean War. Spark and Joy were married on February 14,1966 in Chalmers Indiana. During their marriage they shared many laughs and wonderful memories traveling throughout the United States and Internationally in addition to hosting many fun evenings at their weekend home on “the Big Monon”. Spark was known to have a heart of gold and often opening his home to both friends and strangers. He had a soft spot for animals and would often “adopt” stray animals to ensure they had a “home”. Following his retirement in 2007, Spark enjoyed showing his many antique cars and trucks in local parades and proudly representing the White County Shrine Club. A special thank you to those who visited Spark during his time at White Oaks. Your support is greatly appreciated as he really enjoyed reminiscing and sharing memories about “the good ole days”. Visitation will be from 12:00 (noon) to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Reynolds United Methodist Church, 600 E. 2nd Street, Reynolds, Indiana, 47980. A Masonic Service by the Libanus Masonic Lodge #154 F.& A.M., followed by a White County Shrine Club Walk through will begin at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 2020, followed by a Celebration of Life Service all at the Reynolds United Methodist Church, 600 E. 2nd Street, Reynolds, Indiana, 47980. Memorial donations may be made to the White County Shrine Club of Monticello. Envelopes will be available at the Reynolds United Methodist Church of Reynolds, Indiana.
