Biographical Information: Bill was raised by his grandparents Jay & Bertha Maggert. He attended the Monticello High School of Monticello, Indiana prior to enlisting into the U.S. Army. Bill served during the Korean Conflict from 1948 till 1952. He was a Purple Heart recipient for injuries sustained during the conflict. He worked for the Monticello Police Department from 1953 until 1975, retiring as the Chief. Then in 1975 till 1999 Bill was the Chief Probation Officer for White County, Indiana. Bill then in 2000 become the Process Server until he retired in 2007. He was one of the founding members of the F.O.P. Lodge #123 of Monticello, Indiana. Bill was a member of the Monticello Christian Church of Monticello, Indiana. Bill enjoyed going to Canada fishing and watching his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren at all of their numerous sporting event. He enjoyed roaming the country fields looking for arrow heads and enjoyed taxidermy.
Special Services: Full Military Rites will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. on February 3, 2019 by the Monticello Veterans Honor Guard of Monticello, Indiana.
Memorial Information: Memorials may be given to the F.O.P Lodge #123 of Monticello, Indiana. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Marriage Information: On January 24, 1953 in Monticello, Indiana, he married W. Jane Botts; she survives.
