Biographical Information: Earl was born and raised in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and attended Chagrin Falls High School of Chagrin Falls, Ohio. After high school, Earl, went straight into the United States Army Air Corp at the age of 17. Earl was Crew Chief and a Gunner during World War II in the Beau Fighter and P61 Black Widow, of the 417th Nightfighter Squadron. He was a machinist and worked in several shops throughout the years. Earl, and his late wife owned and operated the former Garden Gate in Aurora, Ohio. He also served on the Aurora, Ohio, Volunteer Fire Department for over twenty years. Earl retired in 1993 and moved to Monticello (Buffalo), Indiana. Earl was into everything from golf, fishing, working with hands, and spending time on the river and lakes. He had a 1973 MG Midget that he enjoyed taking to car shows.
Special Services: Full Military Rites by the Monticello Veterans Honor Guard of Monticello, Indiana, will conducted here at the Miller - Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana.
Memorial Information: In leiu of flowers memorials may be given to the P61 recovery and restroration team, Mid Atlantic Air Museum, 11 Museum Drive, Reading, PA 19605, or the Monticello Veterans Honor Guard.
Marriage Information: On October 19, 1977, in Ravena, Ohio, he married Jo Ellen Shonk; she survives.
