Biographical Information: Mary Alice had served as the Activities Director at the Monticello Healthcare Center of Monticello, Indiana, for over thirty - eight years, retiring in 2013. She and her late husband, Rev. Charles Smith, served as pastors of the former Assembly of God Church of Monticello, Indiana, from 1974 to 1981. Mary Alice’s ministry defined her life, because she loved all people with the love of Christ. She was part of the "Bruton Legacy", as one of many ministers or missionaries from within the family that served God. The tradition continues with her children and grandchildren. Mary Alice was the youngest of nine children.

Marriage Information: On January 12, 1953, she married Rev. Charles C. Smith; he passed away on April 1, 1990.
