Visitation will be: 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on October 2, 2018, at the Miller - Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana.
Biographical Information: Jerry had been in failing health for the last several months. He had lived in the Monticello, Indiana, area since 1971, coming from Burnettsville, Indiana. Jerry was a 1964 graduate of Twin Lakes High School of Monticello, Indiana, where he excelled in basketball. He then went onto graduate from welding school. Jerry was a United States Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. He returned home to tend to the family farm. Jerry was the store keeper for NIPSCO (Northern Indiana Public Service Company) of Monticello, Indiana, for thirty - four years, retiring in 2001. He was co-owner of the Monticello Bowling Alley of Monticello, Indiana, from 1987 until selling out in 1992. Jerry was a member of the Caley United Methodist Church in rural White County, Indiana, and also of the American Legion Post #81 of Monticello, Indiana. He enjoyed sports (coaching little league for several years), deer hunting, fishing, gambling, and stock car racing. Jerry was an avid morel mushroom hunter.
