Biographical Information: Don had lived in White and Cass County, Indiana, all his life and was a 1946 graduate of Burnettsville High School of Burnettsville, Indiana. He and his late wife, Gloria, owned and operated the former Heiny Grocery of Burnettsville, Indiana, for over thirty years. Don had also owned grocery stores in Logansport, Headlee, and Camden, Indiana. He had worked in the grocery business for over fifty years. He was known very well for the amazing ham salad he used to make at the grocery store and no one has ever been able to match it or make it. Don attended the Burnettsville Church of the Brethren in Burnettsville, Indiana. He was a United States Army Veterans serving during the Korean Conflict. Don had served on the Board of School Trustees of the Pioneer Regional School Corporation of Royal Center, Indiana, and had also served on the State Bank of Burnettsville Board of Directors of Burnettsville, Indiana.
Special Services: Full Military Rites by the Monticello Veterans Honor Guard of Monticello, Indiana, will be conducted at the Miller - Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana, at 3:00 p.m.. Tuesday, August 7, 2018.
Memorial Information: Memorials may be given to Burnettsville Community Board or to the Burnettsville Church of the Brethren, both of Burnettsville, Indiana. Envelopes will be available here at the funeral home.
Marriage Information: On March 19, 1951, in Logansport, Indiana, he married Gloria A. Cross; she passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2007.
