Biographical Information: Allen had been in failing health for the last several years. He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. Allen proudly served and dedicated his life serving our country and nation in the United States Navy for over twenty - seven years, retiring in 1986. While in the United States Navy, Allen, served on the USS Boxer off the coast of Cuba, during the Bay of Pigs. He then served on opening Naval Hospital Great Lakes in Great Lakes, Illinois and then was sent to Vietnam to serve as a medic with the Marines. Allen was air crew on helicopters in Sicily for search and rescue. He also was the Navy liaison for the Gillette Family during the Iranian Hostage Crisis. Allen served many years as a hospital corpsman with the United States Marines at Camp Pendleton, California, and retired from there. He loved grilling "grill master" for all of his family and was an amazing cook. Allen had a passion for reading, he was a true bookworm. Most importantly, Allen loved spending as must time as possible with his family.

Marriage Information: On February 17, 1962, at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon, Illinois, he married Susan K. Noble; she survives.
