Biographical Information: Jim had been in failing health for the last several months and has had a broken heart since the loved of his life, Ina Marie "Peggy" Watkins, passed away in 2016. He had lived in Monticello, Indiana, all his life and was a 1946 graduate of Roosevelt High School of Monticello, Indiana. Jim enjoyed flying and got his pilots flying license when he was very young. He was a machinist all his life. Jim started his first shop, Jims Auto Parts and Machine Shop in Monticello. He also worked for Barney’s Wrecker Service of Monticello, Indiana, working 24 hours a day for eighteen years, was the manager of NAPA for several years, the former SIMS Auto Sales, and finally working and retiring from Hubbard Chevrolet, all of Monticello, Indiana. Jim was a locksmith as well and was known to unlock numerous vehicles throughout the years. He did a lot of things for kids in the area and would unlock their vehicles for them and not charge them for it (he would get in big trouble at home with his wife for not charging them). After retiring, Jim, went to work for the former Lear Quality Heating and Air Conditioning maintaining their fleet as well for McDonald Mechanical, both of Monticello, Indiana. He was known well going around everywhere with a cigar in his mouth. Jim was a very likable guy and would sit and listen to anyone and everyone.
