Biographical Information: Shirley and her late husband Frederick W. "Fred", had lived in the Monticello, Indiana, community since 1962, coming from Wolcott, Indiana. She was a 1949 graduate of Monticello High School of Monticello, Indiana, and while in high school she played the clarinet in the marching band. Shirley was on of the first to march across the first original Washington Street Bride Dedication while playing in the high school band. She had worked at the former Monticello RCA Factory of Monticello, Indiana, in the Payroll Department for several years, and at the former Monticello Floral of Monticello, Indiana, for several years. Shirley could always be found outside working in her yard and flowers. She also enjoyed sitting on the front porch of their house on W. Ohio Street, just down the street from the former Monticello Floral. Shirley was a member of the Crystal Chapter #165 Order of Eastern Star of Monticello, Indiana, was a member of the former Rainbow of the Eastern Star.

Marriage Information: On January 1, 1954, at the old Monticello Christian Church on Bluff Street, in Monticello, Indiana, she married Frederick W. "Fred" Schroeder, Jr.; he passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016.
