Biographical Information: Betty had been in failing health for the last several years. She had lived in the Monticello, Indiana, area most all her life and was a 1949 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School of Lafayette, Indiana. Betty and her late husband, Quentin, owned and operate the former Smith Service Station (which is now the Garden Station) in Monticello, Indiana, from 1958 to 1978. She had also worked for INDOT (Indiana Department of Transportation), Monticello, Indiana, District for thirty - four years, retiring in 2000. Betty was a member of the Monticello Christian Church of Monticello, Indiana. She loved doing crafts of all kinds, and baking.

Marriage Information: On November 23, 1951, in Lafayette, Indiana, she married Quentin Ralph Smith; he passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2002.
