Visitation will be: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 23, 2017, at the Miller - Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana.
Biographical Information: Bert has been in failing health for the last several months. He has lived on their family farm in rural Monticello, Indiana, for the last fifty seven years, moving from Star City, Indiana, where he had lived for thirty eight years. Bert attended school in Star City, Indiana. He was a trackman for the Pennsylvania Railroad for ten years and then worked as a dockman at the former Kains Motor Service of Logansport, Indiana, for twenty seven years. Bert was a United States World War II Army Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post #81, and the Christian Church, both of Monticello, Indiana.
Special Services: Full Military Rites by the Monticello Veterans Honor Guard of Monticello, Indiana, will be conducted at the I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemetery in rural Monticello, Indiana.
Memorial Information: Memorials may be given to the wishes of the Donor. Envelopes will be available here at the funeral home.
Marriage Information: On September 28, 1946, he married Mary H.L. Hare; she survives.
