Biographical Information: John was raised in Chicago, Illinois, by his older sister after losing both of his parents at a very young age. He attended Fenger High School in Chicago, Illinois. John served in the Army Air Corp 97th Airborne Squadron in Germany at Wiesbaden during 1945 to 1946. He specialized in Morse Code communications and he earned the Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal and Overseas Service Bar. John was a member of the American Legion Post #81 of Monticello.
Special Services: Full Military Rites by the Monticello Veterans Honor Guard of Monticello, Indiana, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 28, 2017, at the I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemetery in rural Monticello, Indiana.

Marriage Information: On June 3, 1950, he married Caroline H. Rodig; she is deceased. On October 19, 1985, he married Ruth Kathryn Mertz; she is deceased. Then on July 30, 2004, he married Roberta J. Miller; she is deceased as well.
